WELCOME TO CORE EDUCATION ACADEMY
An all-inclusive nonprofit private school for 3rd - 8th grade students.
We are not a therapeutic program.
We are excited to provide a hands-on, experiential learning environment, with cross-curriculum support for children who are creative, gifted, dyslexic, dysgraphic, have dyscalculia, ADD, ADHD, anxiety & other specific learning differences.
We are a private, 501(c)(3) nonprofit school that provides aspects of a S.T.E.M. program for students 3rd - 8th grade, and educational therapy services for students K - 12th grade.
I have been working with Dr. Lainie Barbieri since 2012, prior to her opening CORE Academy, when she owned and operated Lainie’s Learning Lane. Over the past 10 years, I have had the opportunity to assess a number of Dr. Lainie’s students, including those with ADHD, dyslexia, autism, anxiety, and other neurodevelopmental and psychological disorders impacting children and their ability to access school.
What the students I have worked with at CORE gain in their time there, however, is far more than academic skills. CORE Academy provides an environment, level of support, and necessary accommodations that allow students to access learning, often when they have not been able to in other settings. And in doing so, students learn tools and strategies for learning to compensate for their disabilities. Moreover, Dr. Lainie and her team tap into students’ strengths (e.g., artistic abilities, creativity, out-of-the-box thinking, and problem-solving), which are often missed in other settings. As a result, students at CORE, often for the first time, perceive themselves as intelligent and capable of being successful in school.

Learning Geography - 7/8 graders
Standardized tests were developed for children without learning differences/disabilities. Children with any learning difference/disability will often struggle with these types of tests as this format is not a true measure of your child's intelligence or ability to understand and demonstrate grade-level concepts.
As a private institution, we focus on your child's unique way of learning. We are NOT bound to prepare for and focus on standardized tests.
Throughout the history of our program, we continue to see our students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
